What this site collects, and what it does not.

The short version
This is a static site. There is no account, no comment system and no database. Apart from the request the host has to see in order to send you a page, I do not collect anything about you. Some links in the guides are affiliate links, and that part gets its own section below.
Hosting and access logs
Pages are served by Cloudflare. When a request arrives, Cloudflare necessarily sees your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. No website avoids this. It may retain aggregated traffic statistics for security and reliability. This site adds no analytics scripts, tracking pixels or fingerprinting code of its own.
Cookies and local storage
The only thing this site stores in localStorage is your colour theme. It never leaves your browser and is not used for tracking.
Affiliate links are different. The network and the merchant need to know which site sent the sale, so a cookie is usually written after you click through, often valid for 30 to 90 days. Those cookies are set and read by them. I cannot see their contents and cannot use them to identify you.
Affiliate links and commission
Some links in the guides are affiliate links. If you order through one, I earn a small commission and you pay the same price. It does not decide which projects I cover, which step I document, or what the conclusion is.
Avoidance is easy. Open the link in a private window, clear cookies afterwards, or just search for the project yourself. Same destination, same software.
If you email me, I keep your address and the message so I can reply and fix whatever you reported. No mailing list, no forwarding to third parties, no other use. Ask and I delete it.
Third-party links
Posts link out to other sites. Once you follow one, their policy applies and I have no control over what happens there.
Embedded content
Where a post embeds external media such as a video, loading it reveals your IP to that provider, exactly as if you had visited their site.
Your rights
With no accounts and no stored profiles, there is nothing to export or erase. Email threads can be deleted on request. Cookies and local storage are yours to clear at any time. If you think something is missing from this page, write to you@example.com and I will look into it.
Changes
When this policy changes in substance, the date above changes with it. The full revision history lives in the site's git repository, so every edit is on record.
